But what about when you’re looking for something for the whole weekend. One of our favorite weekend activities is to spend the weekend camping. Whether you’re looking for something a little close to home or a longer adventure away, and in Nevada you’ll find it all. Today, we’ve gathered a few of our favorites to help you choose your next camping trip.

1) Great Basin National Park
If you’re looking for some stellar night sky views, then you want to make an overnight stop in Great Basin National Park. Enjoy the solitude of the wilderness, walk among the ancient bristlecone pines. And when it gets dark, bask in the darkest of night skies at one of the many stunning campgrounds.
2) Humboldt-Toiyabe National Forest
With over 6.3 million acres, Humboldt-Toiyabe National Forest is the largest national forest in the lower 48 states. Scattered around the state, you can find stellar places to explore each place you visit. Each area has their own campground to choose from, making each area a stunning place to go for a weekend getaway.

3) Desert Pass Campground
Desert Pass Campground is located in the Desert National Wildlife Refuge. Making this a stunning place to stay. While it’s not for everyone, if you are up for some tent camping and have a high-clearance vehicle, we recommend you checking out the splendid beauty you can find here. All sites are free from charge and are first-served basis.
4) Washoe Lake State Park
Nestled in a scenic valley, Washoe Lake State Park has so much to offer. With breathtaking views of the Sierra Nevada, Carson, and Virginia mountain ranges. And you’ll find there is something to do for everyone, from hiking to bird watching. And when you’re done for the night, head over to one of 49 campsites for a bit of relaxing before the adventure starts again.
5) Wild Horse State Recreation Area
Remote and remarkable, Wild Horse State Recreation Area is a perfect getaway. The reservoir nearby is great for fishing. Even during the winter it’s a great place for ice fishing. With 34 sites that include a table, shade, a fire pit, and a camp pad, you’ll find yourself wanting to come back every chance you get.
