Many people have visited the driest state in the nation, but mostly came for their star light attraction of Las Vegas. People don’t think about living in Nevada, till they actually move there. If you are planning on moving to Nevada anytime soon, be sure to read this article about what Nevada offers and how different it is then other states.

Capital: Carson City

If you didn’t know already, Las Vegas is not the capital of Nevada, it actually is Carson City. People  will mistakenly take Reno or Las Vegas as Nevada’s only place to live, but Carson City offers a lot in its own way.  Located next to the beautiful Lake Tahoe, Carson City has a population of 54,080 since 2013. This town is ideal for family goers or people looking to relocate to beautiful scenery. An average of 80 degrees for weather makes it more tolerable than other parts of the state.

If you’re an outdoor, nature loving person, then you will enjoy the wonderful state parks that Nevada has to offer.  Recreation areas include Pyramid Lake, Lake Tahoe, and Lake Mead and Lake Mohave, both in Lake Mead National Recreation Area. The wettest part of the state receives about 40 in. of precipitation per year, while the driest spot has less than 4 in. per year.”

They don’t charge tax on certain items because of the amount of money produced and taxed through casinos. “In 2009, 12.5% of Nevada’s general revenue came from gambling, which brought in $830 million. Nevada’s lack of a lottery might account for its 12th place ranking for total gambling revenue.”
